The Scoil Aireagail’s Got Talent Show was held in the parish hall, Knocktopher last week. Ten acts in total took to the stage in front of a sell-out audience, and the talent on show was fantastic. Students from 1st year through to 6th year displayed their various skills, and the audience was treated to outstanding and entertaining displays from all concerned. The final four, in no particular order, were Sarah Knox, Side-Tracked, Ryan Thomas and Emma Blake. Side-Tracked, a band consisting of Patrick Butler, lead singer, Jason Dalton and Yonathan Naim, lead guitars, Roger Hayes, bass guitar and Eddy Blake, drums, won over the judges with their first original relaease, entitled ‘Unknown,’ and took top honours. Sarah Knox, singer, claimed second place, followed by Emma and Ryan, both singer-guitarists, in joint third place. Other acts to perform were Clodagh Corcoran, Rachel Fitzgerald & Louise Blake, Thomas Renehan & Patrick Butler, Conor Frisby & James Corcoran, Daniel Michalski & Mark Laherty, Aftershock, Mary Ann Shanahan, Megan Holden, Stephanie Walsh & Danielle Catt, and Jonathan Murray & Brendan Burke. Well done to all who took part, and many thanks to everyone who helped to organise this wonderful event especially Ms. MacNamara, and Ms. O’Gorman.
