Paralympics 2012

Best of luck to past pupil Ray O’Dwyer who will be competing in this years Paralymics in London.

Ray O’Dwyer is a talented young field event athlete who holds Irish records for F34 discus, javelin and shot put.

Winning silver and bronze at 2011′s World Junior Championships (shot put and discus), Ray has enjoyed another successful season to date. His first competition saw him breaking his shot put record in Athlone and his good form continued at the 2012 IPC European Championships in Stadskanaal, Holland.

At Stadskanaal, Ray produced an impressive throw of 17.77m in the javelin, claiming a silver medal and a first senior international podium spot. He competed impressively also in the discus, narrowly missing out on the medals in fourth place.
