Senior Hurling

Scoil Aireagail                   3-11

High School Clonmel     0-15

On the 14th of January, the Senior Hurling team played High School Clonmel, in a challenge match. Even though Scoil Aireagail won the first breaking ball, High School Clonmel got the first score of the game. The game was tight during the first half with both teams clocking up points on the scoreboard. Scoil Aireagails’ points came from Kevin Farrell and Ronan Corcoran. Goal keeper, Aaron Roche, and fullbacks Jack Kennelly, Brian Phelan and Dylan Halligan played outstandingly well throughout the first half which saw no ball hit the Scoil Aireagail net. Goals from Andrew Fitzpatrick (2) and Mikey Jones meant the Ballyhale boys went into the second half with a lead of 3-5 to 0-9 points.

Once again High School Clonmel opened the scoring of the new half with two points. Aaron Doherty, James Grace and Paddy Delaney played well while supplying plenty of ball to the Scoil Aireagail forwards. Six points, all from Ronan Corcoran made sure that High School Clonmel had no chance of a comeback. The final score finished 3-11 to 0-15 to Scoil Aireagail.

Well done to everyone involved with the team and especially their manager Mr. Murphy.
