The American Tea Party and Auction Night on Friday 13 March was a tremendous success. Approximately 150 guests packed the hall to enjoy an evening of delicious food, good company and auction bidding. The school gym was meticulously prepared by the Parents’ Association and staff members for the occasion, adorned further by the wonderful food presentations that accompanied the tables’ hosts. Projected images from students past and present sparked conversations among the guests as they enjoyed their food and chosen refreshment. The auction provided great bargains and no shortage of tension and entertainment as the various lots were snapped up, Henry Sheflin’s signed jersey the most coveted item! All agreed it was a most enjoyable evening, a chance for the school community; parents, past pupils, staff and members of the local community to come together in common cause to socialise and raise money for school development. Many thanks to all who supported the event; the hosts, guests, all who donated and purchased items, and local businesses. Joe Sheridan deserves a special mention for the wonderful job he did as auctioneer. Huge credit is due to the Parents’ Association whose hard work and commitment made the event possible. It was a great night for the Scoil Aireagail school community.
