3rd and 6th year students were busy creating cakes this week for a competition for the ‘Savour Kilkenny Food Festival’. The theme of the competition was “literacy” and students had to design and make cakes inspired by a book or author. The students based their cakes on some of their favourite childhood books. They worked really hard and put in a lot of work to make these fabulous cakes. And we are delighted to say that the winner of both the senior and junior categories were entries from Scoil Aireagail. The winning senior group was Rachel Sutton, Sallyanne Williams and Tara Wilson whose cake was based on various Roald Dahl books. The winning junior group was Jessica Catt, Rachel Duggan and Amy Laherty whose cake was based on the book ‘Alice in Wonderland’. Also, well done to Aisling O’ Mahony and Olivia O’ Keeffe who also entered a brilliant cake based on the book ‘Hansel and Gretel’.
