RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR STUDENTS
Mutual respect and good manners towards one another are essential elements in the promotion of a positive and healthy school environment.
- All students are expected to be on time for each class each day. A note is presented to subject teacher if late.
- Full uniform must be worn at all times.
- Class is dismissed when the teacher gives the instruction.
- Class materials e.g. books, subject equipment, sport equipment etc. are to be organised for each day. This is the responsibility of the student and parent/guardian.
- Lockers are out of bounds between classes. Books from lockers must be organised at break times.
- Keep room neat and tidy.
- Language should be appropriate and respectful.
- Evening detention will be stamped in the diary.
- Food and drink to be consumed at official breaks only. The use of chewing gum in school is strictly forbidden.
- Use of stereos/headphones (incl. MP3, MP4, CD, DVD players, I-Pods etc.) is not allowed in class. Their use is restricted to lunch time only. Inappropriate use will lead to confiscation.
- Mobile phones are not allowed in school.
- Diary is the responsibility of the student and it should be in place on the student’s desk at the beginning of each class.
- Diary must be signed each week by parent/guardian.
- No student may be collected or leave the school without the parent/guardian signing the student out in the book in the main office.
- Students are not allowed to drive or park cars on school grounds.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
- Smoking is prohibited in school and on all school related activities in accordance with the law.
- In the interest of hygiene and safety facial jewellery is not acceptable.
- Girls may wear one pair of stud earrings. The wearing of earrings by boys is prohibited.
- When training and playing hurling and camogie, helmets with a face guard must be worn.
- P.E. clothing is obligatory for all P.E. classes.
- Suitable sports clothing and equipments is mandatory for all sporting activities.
- Students are not allowed to drive or park cars on school grounds.
RULES FOR HOMEWORK DIARY
- It must be brought to each class and placed on desk for all classes.
- All homework must be written in when given.
- All teachers may inspect homework diaries and the class teacher will inspect and sign diary each week.
- Nothing other than homework must appear in this diary.
- Failure to keep a diary will incur penalties.
- Failure to give diary to a teacher when requested is a serious breach of discipline.
- Diaries defaced, or incorrectly used will have to be replaced by pupil at a cost of €30.
- Lost diaries will have to be replaced by pupil at a cost of €30.
- Diaries must be signed by parent/guardian each week.
