Our senior soccer squad started their season with a 4-1 win over Pobail Osrai Kilkenny in Ballyhale last week. In difficult conditions, both teams tried their best to play soccer on the ground, and this resulted in an enjoyable spectacle. Scoil Aireagail’s twin strike force of Thomas Jones and Emmet Frisby shared three goals between them in the first half, whilst Jonathan Murray saw a well struck penalty narrowly fly over the crossbar. Darren Waters added a superb fourth in the second half before a handball by right back Ian Frisby resulted in the Pobail Osrai scoring a well-deserved penalty.
