The Teachers in Scoil Aireagail, Ballyhale have truly reached Celebrity status with their latest fundraising event, a “Muinteoir Bainisteoir“ Gaelic Football competition.

Both Students & Teachers enthuastically signed up to participate in this fun event which will help raise funds for a very needy community  in Tanzania, East Africa visited by teacher Annemarie Fogarty last July. Monies raised will go towards Irish Priest Fr. Mike O’Sullivan of the Pallotine Missionary Priests Order in his endeavour to develop education & community services in this impoverished area.

In the qualifying rounds there were some fantastic displays of skill shown & great enjoyment had by all in efforts to master the art of the “big ball” game in this a predominantly hurling area.  However, when final day arrived, the gloves were off  when Mr Madden/Mary Dunne’s team (the M n M’s) came up against Ms.Hickey/ Ms. Rowe’s team (The Agricultural Choir)  in the Plate final whilst Ms. Leahy/ Ms. Reddy’s (The French Yellow Bellies) team challenged  Ms. Cunningham/ Ms O’Dwyer’s team (The Holy Rebels) for Championship glory.

In two very closely fought finals, the M&M’s emerged convincing Plate winners with the Bainisteoir duo of Ms. Leahy & casino online Ms. Reddy (The French Yellow Bellies)  taking Championship glory and  being crowned “Muinteoir Bainisteoir” Winners for 2010.
