Scoil Aireagail Ballyhale celebrated World Book Day on Tuesday 1st March. We had lots of activities throughout the day, including a visit from the mobile library, who also had a stall available for would-be book worms to sign up and become members of the library, and they also gave wonderful presentations to our students on the various services available from the library; Khan’s bookshop, Kilkenny had a wide and varied selection of books for purchase by students and locals; local author Marian O’Neill from Thomastown spoke to students about her experiences as an author; Holocaust survivor and author Zoltan Zinn Collis was on hand to sign a limited number of copies of his book; a swap shop allowed individuals to ‘bring a book, take a book’; and tea, coffee & cakes, kindly donated by local members of the community and Superquinn Kilkenny, were available to everyone throughout the day. All events were free of charge. We would like to thank everyone who helped us celebrate World Book Day.
