Scoil Aireagail 1-11
On Monday the 21st of September, Scoil Aireagail played Grennan College from Thomastow. This match was the U16 Lenister quarter final the winner of which would book their place in the semi-final against Gorey community school in Wexford. ScoilAireagailstarted off strong with a point from Ronan Corcoranbut Grennan responded well and both teams went point for point for the first 15 minutes. Grennan College got a soft goal 5 minutes to go in the first half and the score at half time was 1-4 to 0-5.
Scoil Aireagail started off well with a point in the first couple of minutes but Grennan responded well with two points of their own to leave the score 1-6 to 0-6 points. Scoil Aireagail were unlucky for a goal when the ball went up the other end of the field and Grennan got a goal. Good work by Paddy Malone set up Ronan Coffee for a great goal to leave the gap at 3 points. Scoil Aireagail failed to keep the momentum going and two more goals by Grennan saw them win the game with a final score of4-10 to 1-11.
