On Thursday 11th October 2012, the fifth and sixth year students visited both the Butler Gallery and The National Craft Gallery in Kilkenny. The Butler Gallery showed a selection of video works by Belgian artist Hans Op de Beeck including the much acclaimed film ‘Sea of Tranquillity’. The students found the work very engaging. The exhibition in the Craft Gallery is titled Utensils Current Approaches to Tableware. This exhibition features the work of twenty three artists, all of whom explore a wide variety of materials. Students particularly enjoyed the work of Jennifer Slattery, Geoffrey Mann, Cathy Miles and THEGREENEYE.
