Our first and fifth year students have been busy receiving their training for the Big Brother Big sister mentoring programme run by Faroige. Big Brothers Big Sisters is an internationally recognised youth mentoring programme that has proven to be effective at improving school retention and academic performance. The programme involves our fifth years acting as mentors to our first year students and throughout the year will be in involved in Mentoring activities.
Scoil Aireagail has found that the BBBS programme gives our 1st years the extra support that they need as they make the transition from primary school into secondary school.
