The All-Ireland Club Champions Ballyhale Shamrocks visited the school on Thursday 14 May. After a magnificent year in which they won the County, Leinster and All-Ireland Club Championship they had lots of silverware to display to the students. Five members of the team; Michael Fennelly , Colin Fennelly, Conor Walsh, TJ Reid and Richie Reid came to the school to meet the students. Current students Eugene Aylward and Conor Reid are also members of the squad. Principal, Mr. O’ Brien welcomed the squad members and spoke about the many ingredients that go into achieving such success. He also spoke about the strong bonds that exist between Scoil Aireagail and local GAA clubs such as Ballyhale Shamrocks. It is a relationship that benefits both. Michael Fennelly addressed the students as one of the team’s past pupils of Scoil Aireagail. He spoke about the opportunities he had not only to play hurling for the school but also try other sports. He also spoke about how the school had prepared him to have a successful professional career. Many thanks once again to the players for visiting the school.
