Thanks to the efforts of the Transition Year students Scoil Aireagail was delighted to recently hand over funds to the Billy’s Tearooms Committee. The students sold Irish Tricolour pendants supplied by the Thomas Meagher Foundation at local shops as part of the national 1916 commemorative events. The school saw it as an ideal opportunity to give back to the community by supporting a local fundraising initiative which is promoting community development. Committee members Noleen Hearne and Helena Cody were on hand to receive the cheque for €216. Scoil Aireagail looks forward to supporting the project again whenever it can.
