Christmas 2016 at Scoil Aireagail

It has been a busy time for students in the build up to Christmas. Apart from preparing for and doing Christmas exams students and teachers have been involved in a number of very noteworthy activities.

The school music group represented the school with great distinction when they performed in the Carmellite Church to raise funds for Billy’s tea Rooms in December.

The 6th Year mentoring students brought all 1st years on a day trip to Kilkenny city where they went bowling and shopping. All went well, great credit is due to the 6th year students involved who act as mentors to the 1st Years over the course of the year as part of the Cairdeas Mentoring Programme.

A 5k Fun Walk took place on Wednesday 21 December to raise funds for St. Vincent de Paul. All students and most staff participated with over €350 handed over to the local St. Vincent de Paul organisation. Later that day the school Carol Service took place. Again the array of the school’s musical talent was on show. Many thanks to Fr. Brennan and the Carmellite community for their collaboration with the school over the year.

The school would like to wish all members of the school community a merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.
