Scoil Aireagail students who sat their Junior Certificate in June 2017 made history this week when they became some of the first students in the country to receive their Junior Cycle Profiles of Achievement (JCPA). Under the reform of the Junior Cycle, students no longer receive a certificate which acknowledges their academic achievements only. The new certification acknowledges achievement across a range of learning experiences;
· They receive their grades in the state certified exams (the exams held in June at the end of 3rd year).
· They receive their results from the classroom based assessments.
· Their achievements in extra-curricular activities is recognised in a section entitled “Other areas of learning”.
Well done to all the students who excelled in so many areas of school life.
