On 23rd April Scoil Aireagail was delighted to welcome singer / songwriter Simon James from Dublin. Simon is an up-and-coming successful artist who has already supported big-name acts, at national events. He spends some of his time visiting schools throughout the country, entertaining students with many of the songs he has written. Simon provides another very important role in his school visits. He talks to students about the importance of online safety and the devastating effects that cyber bullying can have on young people. He explained to students how best to deal with cyber bullying, and bullying of any kind, where it is always essential to tell someone about it immediately. Simon acknowledged that Scoil Aireagail takes any allegations of bullying extremely seriously. Students listened intently to Simon’s advice, and we appreciate his generosity of time in visiting our school. Thanks to principal, Mr. O’ Brien, for organising and facilitating the event.
