Congratulations to four senior students who have recently been appointed Prefects for 2019/20. Well done to Conor Walsh, Sarah Aylward, Cian Cullen and Olivia O’ Keeffe. The process of selecting Prefects involved completing an application form and attending a formal interview. This in itself is highly beneficial to those who applied, as it provides students with a valuable experience for the working world.
The role of Prefect is primarily to mirror the values we hold in Scoil Aireagail in terms of respect, strong work ethic, positive attitude and a good role model for other students to aspire to.
Prefects can also be assigned tasks throughout the year which may include introducing guest speakers, assisting/organising school events, readings at graduation, involvement with student council, representing our school at events, communicating issues/ideas to staff/management etc…
Sincere thanks to all students who put themselves forward, and applied for the position. To choose four candidates was quite a difficult task, as all would have made excellent Prefects.
We wish our new Prefects the very best for the year, and hope they enjoy their new leadership role.
Finally, thanks to Prefects Co-ordinator Ms. Phelan for all the time and work involved in the process so far.
