Junior Soccer Success

Well done to our junior boys and girls soccer teams, who faced off against Duisk College yesterday.
The girls were victorious in their efforts to come out on top with a striking score of 10:1. The girls immediately took the lead, with Emma Dempsey scoring the first goal of the game. They didn’t stop there with Abbie O’keeffe scoring four consecutive goals, accompanied by a goal from Ruth Cass Hennesy. By the time the whistle blew, Emma Dempsey secured a hatrick and Órla Sutton a brace. Only one goal was lost to a penalty in the final play. There was an exceptional effort put in by all.
The boys were not so lucky in their endeavours, with a final score of 1:2. The game began with the incredible save of a penalty by our goalie, Mikey Phelan, followed by a score for Scoil Aireagail, crossed in by Cathal Coogan to Micheal Catt, who headered the ball into the back of the net. Unfortunately, this was followed by two goals from Duisk, giving them the lead for when the final whistle blew. We are very proud of our team, who played their best until the end.
