On Monday 22nd of January, the senior girls were victorious against Coláiste Pobail Osraí. This was an important win for them as it was the KCETB Senior Soccer Final which was held in the Watershed. There were some excellent displays of skills demonstrated by Emma Dempsey, Megan Walsh and the captain Amy Prendergast in the first half. Nevertheless the game was scoreless at half time.
The Pobail opened the scoring in the second half but they were no match for Scoil Aireagail. An excellent goal from Megan Walsh sent the game into extra time. The girls dominated extra time. A penalty to Ballyhale led to another score from Megan Walsh who then went on to complete her hat-trick with a goal from a free kick. The Pobail had a chance to redeem themselves with a penalty but were denied by an excellent save from the goalkeeper, Beth O’Keeffe. An impressive goal from Leah Davis sealed the deal for Scoil Aireagail’. With the final score of 4-1 to Scoil Aireagail, the girls had secured their title for the second year running . It was a great send off for their captain Amy Prendergast in her last year.
