Scoil Aireagail Hurlers Triumph in Challenging Conditions: A Dominant Display in Kilmuckridge

Today, our 1st and 2nd-year hurlers traveled across the River Barrow to Kilmuckridge, Co. Wexford. Conditions were far from ideal for hurling as our lads played into a gale-force wind in the first half. Hard work was needed, and our Scoil Aireagail boys did just that. Each player dominated their area through hard work and determination. Cian Franks slotted some great placed balls before rattling the net after 15 minutes. Our backs managed to keep the Kilmuckridge boys away from our net with some great defending from Reece Drennen and Cathal Aylward. In the 22nd minute, Rhys Power found himself on a rebound shot and made no mistake as he rattled the Kilmuckridge net.

The halftime score read 3:4 to 4.

As we proceeded into the second half, it was evident that the wind wasn’t going to win it for us. Kilmuckridge fought hard, but so did the Scoil Aireagail boys. Jamie Murphy, Conor Holohan, and Seamus Murphy soon found themselves on the scoresheet. As we pushed further ahead, it was evident that the Scoil Aireagail boys were the better team on the day. Our great defending and a fantastic work rate all over the field continued right up to the final whistle. In the end, our Scoil Aireagail boys had a comfortable win, 4:10 to 6 points.

We now await the draw for the South Leinster Semi-Final.

Well done to all the players!
