TY students travelled to Dublin on Monday March 11th to visit Kilmainham Gaol and Croke Park.
The tour of Kilmainham Gaol proved very popular with students learning about the history of the jail from 1796 right up to its decommissioning in 1924. They learnt about its most famous prisoners as well as the conditions that some of the prisoners endured during famine times.
From Kilmainham they took the short trip across Dublin to visit Croke Park. They enjoyed the behind the scenes tour of the stadium, with the highlight for many being the skyline tour 44m above.
