In March our 5th and 6th year Ag Science students put on their wellies and headed to Kildalton Ag College for the Agri Aware day, later that day they had the pleasure of getting a farm tour from a local farmer Bryan Daniels. The students really enjoyed the day in Kildalton as they got to hear about all the different enterprises in the college whilst gaining knowledge from all the Agri Businesses and lecturers on the day. The students really enjoyed getting to see all the different livestock enterprises.
After spending the morning in Kildalton we headed to local farmer Bryan Daniels, this was a great learning experience for the students as the major talking point was sustainability on the farm, Bryan showed us what life is like on a family run business, how he has made improvements to infrastructure to help the work life balance and sustainability on the farm. The students and teachers were very appreciative of the Daniels family for offering this learning opportunity. Both the teachers and the students really enjoyed the day and learned so much about all the different farm enterprises on show.
