Scoil Aireagail are excited to announce that there will be a music event in the school on Wednesday 11th September.
· New Rules will play a concert in Scoil Aireagail and also discuss important mental health issues involving relationships and stress at school etc.
· New Rules have been tipped to be the next big band from the UK. Formed and managed by the UK’s premier pop management company Modest! Management (One Direction, Little Mix, Olly Murs), the band are launching with a bang this year. The band are Little Mix’s support act on their upcoming arena tour. Having all had their own issues with cyber bullying and mental health, the boys are in the perfect position to deliver such a positive message to pupils and are excited to be given the opportunity to educate and inspire.
· New Rules will discuss the different aspects and importance of healthy and respect within all kinds of relationships, whether this be family, friendships or romantic relationships. They will also discuss the characteristics of healthy and unhealthy relationships highlighting the importance of respect and tolerance for everyone. This will all be linked to discussing mental health, the causes of mental health problems (stress at school, relationships etc), a time one of them had his own mental health issues, who to ask for help and how to do it, and the importance of speaking up discussing how to talk about emotions accurately and sensitively. They will give advice on how to stay safe online (Never giving out personal information, never meeting strangers online, safety on social network sites, following rules of your parents on the internet etc) as well as discussing cyber bullying and where to go for help. The talk will be very interactive and will get the pupils involved.
