A very important element to our TY programme is Work Experience. TY students started their work experience placements on Friday September 6th . At Scoil Aireagail TY work experience takes place in two blocks of 11 Fridays from September to Christmas, and 9 Fridays from January to March.
Some of our TY students have applied to do the Minimed course. University Hospital Waterford in conjunction with the Royal College of Surgeons run this course that includes hands on clinical skills laboratories, interactive lectures and discussions on various aspects of medicine. The course runs in February.
Some other students in TY have applied to do the St. Lukes TY Programme. The Hospital Kilkenny run a programme/information sessions on Medical and Allied Health Professions (Pharmacy, Physio, Radiography, etc). This course runs in March.
