U16 Hurlers through to the South Leinster Semi Finals

Congratulations to the U16 hurling team who are through to the South Leinster schools semi-final after beating Kilkenny schools.

It was a horrible wet and windy day for the match with Scoil Aieragail playing against the wind in the first half. Scoil Aireagail didn’t score in the first half and Kilkenny Schools were up by 2 points at half time. The first half performance by the Scoil Aireagail full and half back line was immense as they cleared every ball and showed great confidence and skill. Dean Mason in goal made some great saves and kept the u16 team in the game. At half time Scoil Aireagail were able to bring on Andrew Moran who went on to score a goal as did Jamie Dungan. Scorers included Martin Davis who put over a free, Michael Murphy and Jamie McLoughlin both scored a point. Roy Cullen made some great runs picking up loads of balls and opening up their defence – he also scored a point. The score to finish was 2-4 to 3 points. Despite the terrible conditions Scoil Aireagail pushed through and showed great determination and hunger to bring them into the semi-final.
