Our Transition Year students visited Portlaoise prison this week where they learned about life, both as a prisoner and a prison officer, on the inside. They learned a lot about life of incarceration, the drugs scene inside prison and the methods used to control prisoners. Students found the visit to be a real eye opener and were quite shocked at how difficult life in prison really is. Thanks to Ms. O’Dwer and Mary Dunne for organising the trip.
