Juvenile Hurling

Our juvenile team went out at the quarter final stage in an epic game in Bagenalstown against the Pres. DLS. Playing against a strong breeze in the first half we struggled to get scores on the board and looked destined for a heavy defeat trailing by 3-6 to 0-1. We were completely transformed in the second half however and launched as stunning comeback which saw us camped in front of their goal for the final couple of minutes looking for a goal which unfortunately did not come. Final score was Pres DLS. 5-7 Scoil Aireagail 4-8. Scorers were Mark McNamara 2-2, Edmond Fitzpatrick 2-2, Casey Corcaran 0-2, Adham Masood and Paul Hennessey 0-1. Sean Fitzpatrick made some heroic saves in goal, Ben, Pauraic, Jamie, Casey, Reece, Michael and Luke in the second half along with those previously mentioned stood out. Well done to all involved and you would have to wonder would things have been different had our captain Dean Mason been available to play. This is an excellent group of players who can hopefully go all the way at junior level. We showed our class by getting out of a tough group which contained Callan CBS, Grennan College and Kilkenny Schools.
