Scoil Aireagail hosted a music and mental health awareness concert on Wednesday 11th September.
New Rules have been tipped to be the next big band from the UK. Formed and managed by the UK’s premier pop management company Modest! Management (One Direction, Little Mix, Olly Murs), the band are launching with a bang this year. The band are Little Mix’s support act on their upcoming arena tour.
The band played some of their current hits and then they had a question and answer session where they were asked questions about their music inspiration and what their time in school was like. The lads then spoke about their own difficulties in school and how they managed their stresses. Ryan spoke about how he managed the stress of being overwhelmed during busy periods and exams while at the same time playing sport and being busy with music. The band also spoke about different online issues that they have faced like catfishing and getting negative comments on social media and how they deal with this themselves.
The event was not only really enjoyable but it also gave students the opportunity to learn more about how to deal with different mental health issues and where to look for support. Big thanks to New Rules for making the trip down to Scoil Aireagail and we look forward to following their rise to success!
