Congratulations the U16 hurlers and their manager Mr. Walsh who beat Grennan College last week.
Scoil Aireagail got off to a great start in the first half with scores from Dean Mason, Casey Corcoran, Michael Murphy, Adham Masood, Jack Walsh, Ronan Hayes, and Patrick Hearne and were by far the stronger team in the first half. Stand out players in the first half were Jamie McLaughlin, Ronan Hayes, and Dean Mason.
Grennan came out fighting in the second half and put Scoil Aireagail’s win in Jeopardy. Matthew Fitzpatrick’s efforts to stop Grennan forwards from scoring resulted in a yellow card. As the match was coming to the end Scoil Aireagail narrowly defeated Grennan with a goal from Adham Masood. It was a well deserved win.
